Methodology
How We Evaluate Ecommerce Software
Our goal is to help small ecommerce sellers choose software with less confusion. We evaluate tools based on practical usefulness, seller fit, feature depth, ease of use, pricing considerations, and alternatives.
Evaluation criteria
We look at several factors when writing reviews and comparison pages:
- Use case fit: What ecommerce problem does the tool actually solve?
- Ease of use: Can a small seller understand and use it without a large team?
- Feature relevance: Are the features useful for Shopify, Etsy, DTC, or marketplace sellers?
- Pricing sensitivity: Is the cost reasonable for the seller stage the tool targets?
- Scalability: Can the tool support growth, or is it mainly useful at the beginner stage?
- Alternatives: What other tools should readers compare before subscribing?
What our reviews are not
Our guides are not financial advice, legal advice, or guaranteed performance predictions. A tool can support better execution, but it cannot guarantee traffic, conversion, or sales.
Why pricing notes may be general
Software pricing changes often. Instead of presenting outdated pricing as fixed truth, we encourage readers to check current official pricing before buying. When relevant, we discuss whether a tool is generally budget-friendly, premium, or better suited for larger stores.
