Sale Samurai Review for Etsy Sellers

Sale Samurai advertises a free plan and says no card is required. We re-checked the signup path on 6 November 2026: the only way in is a trial that asks for a card at step two.

Our rating

3.5 / 5

Weighted from five criteria published on our review methodology page, using Sale Samurai's own published pricing and plan limits. Last checked 2026-11-06.

Free plan usefulness
2/530% weight
A free plan is described in Sale Samurai's own pages, but it has no signup route: the only way in is a 3-day trial that asks for a card at step two, and the free tier is the downgrade state after cancelling it. That falls in this band.
Entry price for a small seller
4/520% weight
The Monthly plan is $19.99, inside the $10.01 to $20 band, and annual billing brings it to $16.65/month.
Cost predictability as you grow
5/520% weight
Flat monthly and annual prices with all features included on every tier. No credits and no price that changes with shop volume.
Platform fit
3/520% weight
Built for Etsy only. Sellers on Shopify, Amazon or their own store cannot use it.
Price transparency
5/510% weight
Both paid tiers are published with prices. The advertised free tier, however, does not appear on the pricing page, and the homepage claims no card is required for a signup flow that asks for one at step two.

Quick verdict

Sale Samurai is a competent Etsy keyword tool with flat, predictable pricing, and the Chrome extension that overlays search data on Etsy pages is a genuine convenience. The problem is the front door. Its pages describe a free plan and claim no card is required, but as of November 2026 there is no signup for the free plan at all, and the only way in — the 3-day trial — asks for a card at step two. That matters more than it sounds, because the free plan was the reason to pick Sale Samurai over a paid-only tool: it let you see whether Etsy keyword data changes your decisions at all. Until a free signup exists, compare it against eRank, whose free tier does work and allows 5 lookups a day. If you are already committed to paying and you like the extension, the flat $19.99 is fair value.

What is Sale Samurai?

Sale Samurai is an Etsy keyword research and listing analysis tool. It reads live Etsy search data to show search volume, competition and trends, and it ships a Chrome extension that overlays its data on Etsy pages while you browse. Its own pages describe a free Freemium plan with 20 keyword searches and 10 listing analyses a month, and the homepage states that no credit card is required. We re-checked every signup route on 6 November 2026. The homepage and pricing page now show only the two paid plans — the word Freemium does not appear on the pricing page at all — and every button leads to the same two registration forms, monthly and yearly. Signup is a three-step flow (create account, add payment, get the extension), and the first step states plainly that next you will add a card. The free plan exists only as the state you drop back to if you cancel the paid trial in time, according to Sale Samurai's own FAQ. The tool itself looks competent and the pricing is refreshingly flat, but the free plan is advertised rather than available, so this review treats it that way.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Chrome extension shows data directly on Etsy pages
  • Flat monthly pricing with no credit system to manage
  • Every feature is included on every tier, so you only pay for volume
  • Annual billing brings the monthly equivalent down to $16.65

Cons

  • The advertised free plan has no signup entry point at all — it is only what you drop back to if you cancel a paid trial
  • The only way in is the 3-day paid trial, and step two of signup requires adding a card — despite the homepage claiming no card is required
  • If you can get the free tier, it caps at 20 keyword searches and 10 listing analyses a month
  • Etsy only, so it is no use if you sell elsewhere

Free plan and pricing

Free plan

Sale Samurai describes a free plan with 20 keyword searches a month, but there is no way to sign up for it directly. As of 6 November 2026 the only route in is the 3-day paid trial, which requires adding a card at step two; the free plan is what your account drops back to if you cancel that trial in time. Treat the free plan as unavailable as a starting point.

  • 20 keyword searches per month (as advertised on the pricing page)
  • 10 listings analysed per month (as advertised)
  • Advertised as requiring no payment method
  • No direct signup exists — this tier is reached only by cancelling a paid trial (checked 6 November 2026)

We check every free plan on this site by opening its signup page and reading the form. See which ecommerce tool free plans actually work for the full set of results side by side.

Pricing in detail

Sale Samurai's pricing page publishes two tiers. Monthly is $19.99. Yearly is $16.65/month billed as $199.90 annually, which the pricing page describes as two months free. A third tier, Freemium at $0 with 20 keyword searches and 10 listing analyses a month, is described in Sale Samurai's own help and FAQ pages but does not appear on the pricing page and has no signup route: it is the plan your account drops back to if you cancel a paid trial before it converts. All features are included on every tier, so the difference between free and paid is volume rather than functionality. Both paid signups start with a 3-day trial, and the registration flow requires adding a card at step two, before the trial begins.

What we checked in the product

  • 2026-11-06: Re-checked every signup route. The homepage and pricing page show only Monthly and Yearly; the pricing page does not mention Freemium. Every call to action leads to members.salesamurai.io/register/monthly or /register/yearly. Those pages show a three-step flow — create account, add payment, get the extension — and state: Step 1 of your free trial. Next you will add a card. The members FAQ confirms the card is charged when the 3 days are up, and that cancelling in time drops the account back to the Freemium plan. So the free tier still cannot be started directly, and the trial cannot be started without a card. We stopped at the account form and entered no details.
  • 2026-09-28: Tried to sign up for the free plan. The Freemium card on the pricing page links to members.salesamurai.io/register/freemium, which redirects to the pricing page instead of showing a form. Clicking the actual button, in a fresh browser session and from the pricing page itself, does the same. /register?plan=freemium redirects to /register/yearly and the page states 'Next you'll add a card'. /register/free returns a 404. The only reachable signup forms are the yearly and monthly paid trials, and both ask for payment details. We did not enter any payment details.

Who should use Sale Samurai?

  • Etsy sellers who already pay for SEO tools and want flat pricing instead of credits
  • Sellers who prefer seeing keyword data inside Etsy rather than in a separate dashboard
  • Sellers willing to commit to $19.99 a month without a hands-on free trial

Who should avoid Sale Samurai?

  • Anyone who wants to try a tool before paying, because there is no free signup and the trial requires a card
  • Sellers on platforms other than Etsy
  • Shops that want competitor tracking across several marketplaces
  • Sellers who only research keywords occasionally and would rather use a free tier that works

Frequently asked questions

Does Sale Samurai have a free plan?

On paper, yes: a Freemium tier at $0 with 20 keyword searches and 10 listing analyses a month, described in Sale Samurai's own help and FAQ pages. In practice there is no way to sign up for it. Re-checked on 6 November 2026: the pricing page lists only the two paid plans, every signup button leads to the paid trial registration, and that flow requires adding a card at step two. The free plan is what your account drops back to if you cancel the trial before it converts — it is not a starting point.

How much does Sale Samurai cost?

Monthly is $19.99. Yearly is $16.65/month billed as $199.90 annually. All features are included on every tier, so you are only paying for volume.

Is Sale Samurai better than eRank?

The deciding factor right now is not features but access. eRank's free plan works and allows 5 lookups a day, roughly 150 a month, so you can evaluate it at no cost. Sale Samurai's advertised free tier allows 20 searches a month, but there is no signup for it, so evaluating Sale Samurai means starting a trial with a card. Sale Samurai's advantage is the Chrome extension, which shows data on Etsy pages as you browse.

Does Sale Samurai work for Shopify sellers?

No. It reads Etsy search data and is built for Etsy sellers only.
